5 Must-Have Features that Every eCommerce Site Should Have

In today’s fast pace and growing world, the concept of eCommerce websites is nothing new. These days, the trend of having a well-optimized and up to date website has turned out to be an essential feature for all sorts of businesses, including small and big ones. These strategic placements and designing of an eCommerce website help to increase the revenue of the enterprise, as well as allowing access to a wider range of consumers.

Although not every website is created equally. The specific reason behind every eCommerce website being unique is to put a mark of its own. Different tools help to boost the traffic as well as sales but those can also put an impact on how the customers perceive the company as a whole. Even, not implementing these features in the right way can serve the business with great disadvantages. The mindset of the customers can be fickle and if the website does not qualify for their usability standards, they might refuse to use the website. Many times customers have very specific needs for which they access the website, hence the goal should be making the website more user-friendly and informative.

5 Must-Have Features that Every eCommerce Site Should Have

To achieve success in the world of eCommerce, every company needs to build an effective and intuitive website for their enterprise. Being stated that, if an eCommerce website is not performing well or up to the expectations, there might be a chance that one of these five essential features are not being implemented correctly, which are decided by keeping in mind the expectations that customers have while using the website. Below I am depicting 5 must-have features that an eCommerce website should have,

Mobile Friendliness.

Since the world is getting more and more mobile phones or smartphone-centric through days, if a website does not perform well as a mobile-friendly one, it will be bound to lag behind the others. A mobile phone is easy to access, that is why many customers prefer conducting purchase with the help of their mobile devices while being at comfort and ease. This is the time to cater to the redesigning of the website to a large demographic – a population that makes up around 50% of the total online transactions. It is expected that a potential customer might find out about the website through social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. A mobile-friendly site will ensure that they will spend more time on the website or choose to stay on the webpage and complete a purchase.

Well-Secure Environment.

Security is something that is valued and sought after by every person in the world and it is not an exception in the case of an eCommerce website. It is very important to make sure that the product that is being sold is safe for the consumers to use. When it comes to sharing personal or important information on a website, the security level of a website is highly looked for. Personal information, such as addresses, names, credit card numbers, are expected to be safe while performing an online transaction on a virtual site. It is very crucial to make sure that the website has a secure HTTPS connection. Taking up on this strategy will not only help to provide the customers with a sense of security but also it will help to foster a level of trust between the customer and the venture. There must be privacy policies mentioned in the website, ideally in the footer, so that all the users can get to know about what information is being shared and how.

Customer Offers and Promotions.

Promotions and special offers can be posed as an incredibly useful tool to attract traffic to the eCommerce website of a company. Businesses usually make use of social media, text messages, email, and sometimes the header of their website to let customers know about the on-going offers and promotions on the displayed products. By putting in a little amount of effort one can develop and boost traffic and sales this way. When a special offer or promotion is flashed at the header of the website, it incentivizes potential buyers to go through the leads when they otherwise might not have, which turns out as an increase in sales. If the website can make the customer linger for longer, they are most likely going to make a purchase. If a customer considers that they are going to make more value out of a certain product, they are very much likely to spend more money. Thus, promotions can make a huge difference when it is utilized properly.

Better UX Design.

Ease of use is one of the most important elements behind an eCommerce website’s success. A proven fact is that consumers not only value a website that provides useful services, but also it has to be user-friendly and easy to navigate through the website. Customers usually make decisions regarding purchasing in a moment, that is why a website must be efficient in bringing potential buyers to a final purchase. Customers must not be struggling to look for what they want since every second longer might cause them to go someplace else. To make the customer’s experience simpler, one can make use of breadcrumb navigation, autocomplete search bars, and fillers.

Customer Testimonials.

Customer feedback comments are one of those first things that any new customer will probably go through before purchasing from a website. It provides them with a sense of the quality of the product. Reviews might seem like very little things to include but in reality, it can have a tremendous impact on the success of an eCommerce website. For an instance, ratings can influence a customer’s interest in a certain product. If a product is highly rated, most likely it will get purchased by consumers. Although positive reviews help to increase a product’s perceived value, it is advised to have a mix of positive and negative reviews altogether. This enforces the customer’s idea of the business’s trustworthiness. Reviews also ensure transparency which helps to strengthen the brand image.

The above-mentioned points will help your eCommerce website to get a competitive advantage and the opportunity to stay out of the market competition by increasing sales and achieving the goal. Why Content Marketing is Important?

Why Content Marketing is Important

We often heard this term that “Content is the King”, and this term is strongly suggested in the field of digital marketing. When looking at the days before the internet has arrived, we find that businesses advertised their products publishing their contents through the newspaper or leaflet, there was wall painting too. But now the time has changed, the world became digital, and we are following the same process for advertising our products digitally. Whichever the medium is been it digital or traditional, you have to focus on the content part. Because it is the most valuable part of any business strategy. Starting from social media marketing to SEO rankings, content is the only key that led us to the top position of the market competition.

Fresh and relevant content is not only driving traffic to your site but also helps you to build trust with your customers. It can also fuel your other digital marketing strategies too, as it is the base for your other business promotion/marketing strategies. So, if you still haven’t invested in the content marketing for your business, then you may miss a big chance to win the market competition, or in other words, handing over the king’s crown to your competitors without any hesitation. Will you like it if your competitor can get more traffic and ranking than you? I bet no. So stop wondering and invest in content marketing. In my next paragraph, I will show some common reasons which consider content marketing the most important part of any business ideas and why it matters most.

Why Content Marketing is Important?

As I previously mentioned that content is the most important part of any business strategy, and it is the base where all other promotional strategies lie. Now let’s start with the reasons, why we are saying it is the most important part,

Content Marketing helps in Lead Generation.

If you still have doubts regarding the fact that content marketing is most important, then bear in mind that it can generate leads to your sites effectively with fewer costs and efforts than traditional marketing. Say, for example, you are selling an item on your site, and you want to make it a top-selling product on your site but you don’t have enough customers, simply write genuine content about that product. Write about the product in detail, like a blog post, and be specific about its features, importance, and why it should be the best-selling product. Also, give honest reviews about the product in your post, and lastly, put a link to your product page in your content, now boom you will get a lot of leads without spending huge money in traditional marketing. Often a site loses huge sales because the customers were not confident enough about purchasing the product and abandoned their carts on the sites. But creating relevant and genuine content will educate your customers about the product, and allow them to learn more about it and personalize it. And once they personalize the product, they will get enough confidence to make the purchase and you will soon be going to win the market competition.

Content Marketing helps in Search Engine Rankings.

Having strong and relevant content on your site makes you rank top in the SERPs. SEO is one of the major parts for your business that let your business be visible to the world, and for being in the top position of the Search Engines, you have to publish good content on your site. Even researches show that sites that publish good content and update frequently have a better chance to be in the first place of SERPs than the sites who don’t. The main factor is that the more you publish good content on your site, the more you make your customers visit your site and spend time on the pages, and the more your customers spend time on your web pages, the more you get SEO rankings based on the on-site time spending. But make sure that your site contains good quality content, instead of bulks. As the search engine impacts go negative if you frequently publish low-quality content on your site. A quality content once in a month results better than hundreds of low-quality contents publications daily.

Content Marketing helps you to drive more Social Media traffic.

Social media is a big platform for targeting your audience and driving traffic to your site. It offers you various options like a private conversation, product advertisement, and push followers directly to your site, including integrating the options to purchase products without leaving the platform, just for building trust with your customers. Strong content can help you to get more leads from social media. Content is the main part of Social Media Marketing too. A detailed post will attract more customers to your sites, even you can create graphical content like images and videos regarding your product and post on your social media accounts. It will allow your followers to know about the product and shop it without leaving the platform.

Social media

Content Marketing can help you in Backlinking.

Backlinking to a website is another process of driving traffic to your site, it is a process to get linked to an external website or blogs that may write up about you or link you on their published contents, which will let you get traffic from their audience too. If you have good content present on your site then you may get the chance to get linked to a website for backlinking, but if you have very lame and easy to find content on your site, then it is obvious you will not get that strong option to get backlinked.

Content Marketing helps you to get a Competitive Advantage.

More relevant content on your site drives more traffic on your site, more traffic will provide you with more SEO rankings, and eventually build a good reputation for your business. Once you will get a good global impact on your business brand, you will get a competitive advantage in this market competition, which will let you stay away from the competition or in simple words let you win it.

The above passages show you the reasons why content marketing matters most while coming to the strategies for digital marketing, and why you should invest more in content marketing. I hope this article will help you to make stronger strategies to promote your business, and if you like it, then feel free to share it with your friends. How to Understand Your Website Needs a Redesign?

How to Understand Your Website Needs a Redesign

As we all know that technology has occupied our lifestyles and the internet makes it easier. Starting from shopping to working, everything turned itself from that brick-and-mortar store to the digital platform. And it makes the website a mandatory part of any business. It has been one kind of identity of a business in the online world. Also, it deals with many things like brand reputation, global identity, consumer base, and above all the sales. Businesses are facing a hike up in their annual revenue from virtual sales than their in-person sales. Hence, it is proven that the website is something that you should have to take care of gently and positively. Website redesigning is one of the taking care processes. We take care of our children to make them a future wise and big man, just like that we have to take care of our websites for the future of the businesses.

What is Website Redesigning?

Website redesigning does not mean to change the whole site and replace everything. But it does mean to update your site. Let’s start with the grooming feature, when we find something beautiful and trendy in fashion, we buy it and dress us up trendy. We don’t replace the old us, we groom. Just like that website redesigning means to decorate the website with cool features, put hot and trendy add-ons, and update it with all the new things. We have to keep in mind that the website represents the business in the online world, so we need to furnish it timely. Now let’s discuss some common signs which will tell you that your website needs to be redesigned.

How to Understand Your Website Needs a Redesign?

As I previously mentioned that the website should be re-decorated with the new and trendy features and add-ons like the way we dress us up with the hot and trendy fashion stuff on the market, below I am sharing some common signs that will tell you that your website needs redesigning.

If your website is slow loading.

No one likes to wait for more, instead, they prefer less waiting and more responding. Like the way you get frustrated when your friends take time to reply to you, simultaneously people don’t like to wait for your slow loading website. If any of your webpages or the whole website takes more than 3 seconds to load, then for sure your customers will abandon their cart on your site. In this case, you should consider redesigning your website, otherwise, you may lose customers.

If your website is not Mobile-Friendly.

If you only have invested in your desktop site and never thought about the mobile site, then it is so obvious that your sales are not that visibly increasing, rather it can decrease. The reason is most of the people are now on their mobile. From searching for a job to searching for a product, smartphones are the first thing we consider. Besides, it is more comfortable to shop from mobile while laying on the bed rather than sit in front of a desktop. Hence, if your website is not mobile-friendly then I strongly recommend you redesign your website and update it.

If your site has poor UX Design.

UX or user experience plays a vital role in making your website more successful. Though it sounds easier to please the users, in reality, many of the big brands often miss the main thing and lose their customers. Having a poor UX design to site costs you losing customers, traffic, conversation, and ultimately the sales, and it will affect your business brand. Consider a redesign if you suddenly face a loss of customers, traffic, and improve the UX design of your site.

If your site is Aged.

If you have a site aged more than 5 years and haven’t redesigned it till now, then you should consider doing this. Old is Gold is a myth, updating with the new reality is the trend. And if you find that your competitors have a new website while you have an old one, then it is high time for you to redesign it.

If you are unable to update your contents.

Often the old websites consist of some complicated methods to update its contents and hence the owner faces some difficulties while updating some information or posts of the site. In this case, it is strongly recommended redesigning the site with a new CMS like WordPress which makes it easier for the owners to update the contents when they want without facing any difficulties.

If your site is facing an SEO Problem.

If your site is not getting good rankings on search engines like Google or Bing, then it will have a big negative impact on your business. If you are not getting enough SEO rankings then the chances of being on the first page of SERPs will be lowered. Your website is the main marketing platform of your business in the digital world. Your website is a way to connect more people and reach them with your collection. So if you are facing these SEO problems, please go for redesigning your website.

The above passages show you some common signs which tell you that your website needs redesigning. Website redesigning can be done both by self and website designers. If you have a technical background, then you may be able to do it by yourself. And if not, then it is better to hire a team that can help you with this. Which eCommerce platform to choose for your online store and why?

Which eCommerce platform to choose for your online store and why_

This is the time in the world when you should think about starting an eCommerce business. If you find even a little bit of interest in you for an online store, then go for it. It can become a good asset for you in the future.

There are lots of platforms out there on the internet to start your eCommerce business, but if you do not do your research well, then later you can face a lot of trouble if you choose the wrong eCommerce platform for yourself. I have handpicked and written about the best ones so that it helps you to choose an ideal platform to build your online store!

BigCommerce is a leading eCommerce platform that lets you create an online store. You can set up your store, add products, and make money through it. It has many built-in features that are designed to help you sell online. It is a specialized eCommerce builder that boasts of clients including big brands like Kodak, Toyota, and Ben & Jerry’s.

Why BigCommerce?

BigCommerce is one of the most popular choices for setting up an online eCommerce store. It is best for multichannel selling meaning it gives you an avenue to sell across many different platforms like eBay, Amazon, Square, Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. This helps in reaching a vast majority of buyers, as well as keeping the costs low. Its accessible tools make it viable for any niche or industry to be successful and profitable. This platform is ideal for large or rapidly growing businesses!

Why Not BigCommerce?

This platform is not ideal for you if you’re new to this and just beginning to set up your store then you shouldn’t consider BigCommerce as it isn’t much beginner-friendly. It is not ideal for a small business as well as you will have to pay for a lot of features that you don’t need at such an early stage of your business. Sure, It’s features are state-of-the-art and great but you will need time and a bit of learning to figure it out and set them up. The only scenario where you should go for BigCommerce is when you are an enterprise looking to scale up your business rapidly.

Shopify is another popular platform that lets set up an online store and sell their products easily. It is best at selling. It is now a top choice for businesses of all sizes. Using their service, you can get access to easy to use admin panel where you can add products, process orders and enter store data. Shopify in its website describes itself as a ‘The all-in-one commerce platform to start, run, and grow a business.’  They also provide a free 90-day trial.

Why Shopify?

Shopify is quite user friendly with a lot of features hence it’s great for beginners setting up their online business. It will not be much of a hassle for them. It helps improve your sales through its tools. All in all, both novices and professionals can make use of this software service. Also, unlike many other eCommerce platforms, Shopify has a 24-hour support team.

Why Not Shopify?

eCommerce platforms gain customers through online search results. Hence, SEO is quite important for an eCommerce website to drive traffic to your site, increase sales, attract customers, give recurring buyers, build brand identity and to increase revenue. Hence, having a strong SEO is essential for a business to succeed but its SEO is weak. There’s also the transaction fees for those using a third-party payment gateway (some of its competitors don’t charge any transaction fees at all, regardless of payment gateway used).

WooCommerce is a flexible, open eCommerce solution that helps you sell products and services from your WordPress site. It’s a free WordPress plugin. It basically helps you build an online eCommerce store using WordPress.

Why WooCommerce?

WooCommerce software is free as well as open-source. This means that any user, designer or programmer can alter its code because it is based on open collaboration. It is ideal for small to large-sized online merchants using WordPress.

Why Not WooCommerce?

WooCommerce has a lot of plugins but installing so many of these plugins and extensions veers towards slow downloading speed and overall performance. Although WooCommerce is free, the installation of some extensions may require a punctual payment or the hiring of plans with monthly fees.

Weebly is a website builder that can create a website, blog, or online store simply and quickly. It is a very popular platform and has more than 12 million registered users due to it being a free website builder, and it’s pretty easy to use!

Why Weebly?

It is a good choice for startup entrepreneurs or those who do not wish to hire a developer. It is an easy to use platform with low costs and free designs. There are better eCommerce website builders out there but if you are someone looking for a simple store with marketing automation built-in, then Weebly is a great option.

Why Not Weebly?

Don’t go for Weebly if SEO is important for you.

Magento is open-source software and one of the most popular open e-commerce systems in the network.

Why Magento?

It has a variety of features and has a strong SEO. Many reputed brands like Nike, Procter and Gamble, and Cisco trust Magento. If you have a budget for a developer, only then go for Magento because coding is an integral part of it. For large eCommerce businesses, there’s a paid level for enterprise solutions. It’s expensive but you’ll get access to the long list of features that you can extend. Things like discounts, recurring payments, ability to grind SEO, adjust content per user, membership subscriptions, unlimited products, and more.

Why Not Magento?

I don’t think it’s feasible for small businesses starting out to go for Magento as you need quite a budget for its pricey themes and overall being a bit expensive.

Each platform I have reviewed is good in its own way and has all the essential features needed for an eCommerce website builder. Now it is up to you to choose what suits your business the best as everyone’s need and budget is different! Make sure to choose the ideal platform for your online business that best fits your wants.

I hope this article helped you in deciding that! If you have any queries, please comment below and I will be happy to answer them.

In today’s world where each aspect of our lives are ultra-connected with the internet, a solid online presence is needed to succeed in any business. The concept of optimizing for a firm online identity is no longer an opportunity. It has become a necessity for entrepreneurs around the world. They either manage to keep up with the stiff competition or face the risk of being left out. In an age where digitalization is the key to advancement, it is necessary to make the internet your ally to propel your business forward. However, not all online ventures manage to be successful. Some even take years to reach a level where they manage to get their target audience. In this blog post, we will take you through some of the key steps required for a successful venture online.

A huge global audience and exciting opportunities await those who fully manage to exploit the internet for their ventures. With the right tricks and tips, you too can become the next big platform that everyone’s talking about. Down below is a comprehensive guide on starting and making a successful online venture.

  1. Domain name

A domain name will basically be the name of your brand/business. This will be your online address through which consumers can get acquainted with your product or service. Getting a domain name usually requires you to get a plan from a web hosting company. They will charge you a small fee and will help you get your website name created. Your target audience can then easily find your business on the net with your domain name.

  1. Web Hosting

As mentioned above, a web hosting company not only helps you get your domain name, but also ensures your website is published on the internet. They integrate essential features in your website like email accounts, FTP access and WordPress support. Hosting companies also have technicians who are available round the clock to ensure your website is running 24×7. They help to troubleshoot for problems in your site, debug for errors and also allow renewal of domain names.

  1. Creation of your website

This next step requires you to create and personalize your website, so that people can read about your business and interact online. It basically creates the look and feel of your website. Although there are various templates available for use online which can be done individually, it is recommended to avail the services of a reputed website designing company for this. They have graphic designers who will work on your brand logo, color schemes and other graphics. They also have web developers who can integrate essential features like payment portals, newsletter support, optimizing your site for various devices and OS like android, iOS, Windows, etc. This steps essentially translates to you communicating your idea and selling your product to the world.

  1. Optimize your site for SEO

There are thousands of websites on the internet. Not all of them are easily found by customers. This is because search engines like Google assign a rank to each and every site. High ranking sites show up on hits more frequently than lesser ones. This is why SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is necessary. It helps to target keywords related to your business and increases the visibility of your site on the internet. For example, a business dealing in AC repair will receive visits from people who searched that specific or related keywords on Google. A good digital marketing company will have SEO experts who can increase the ranking of your website.

  1. Set up Email Marketing

Email marketing is basically collecting email addresses of people who can then receive offers and updates from your website. This can be done in a variety of ways like asking people to sign up for newsletters when they first visit your site. You can also ask them to fill their email address when they have a query about a product. You can also use a Contact Us form where people can get enticed to fill it up for better understanding about your brand.

  1. Have a social media handle

Around 90% of the internet’s population can be found on popular social media sites. Thus, you should strive to engage customers on different social media platforms for getting organic traffic onto your site. Regular posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. along with graphics can give your brand the boost it needs.

  1. Contents

Contents are the backbone of any high ranking/popular website. Crisp and appealing contents keep the visitor on your site for a long time. It also helps in effectively conveying your ideas to them. Content of a site can also be incorporated with keywords which will further revamp your SEO strategy. You can create a blog page for your site where you can keep publishing content on a regular basis and keep visitors engaged. You should ensure the content is 100% unique and not copied from anywhere else.

Online ventures have many advantages. They are easy to operate, do not require much man power and the individual can set his/her own work hours. The cost of funding at the start is also very less as compared to an offline one. The above mentioned steps will surely help you create your online strategy for successful operations or even help in revamping your existing one.

Predictions of Digital Marketing for 2020

With the boom of digital technology, marketing strategies have vastly changed over time. Everything starting from business to consumers has become digitalized. When so much of marketing is done digitally, there need to be new and innovative ways to outshine your competitors. And from the analysis of past trends in digital marketing, we understand that some innovative trends are going to reign in the industry while some will go out-of-date.

Now, why should we know more about future trends in digital marketing? That is because it helps your business stay alive and thrive. For example, Colgate that mainly sells oral hygiene products was established in 1806 and sold candles, starch, and soap. It is still alive, thriving and giving tough competition to new sanitary-hygiene based companies worldwide. So, what made them survive and thrive in the industry is their will to adapt to the latest trends from organic marketing to digital marketing. Hence, every company needs to know about future marketing trends so that they can plan their next marketing strategies.

What is Digital Marketing?

Digital marketing is the promotion of brands and products using digital platforms ranging from texts, videos, podcasts, applications, radio channels, television, and electronic billboards. It helps companies analyze campaigns and strategize their content to understand which strategies are more effective and which are simply draining money.

Bad news in 2020 Digital Marketing Predictions

  1. Lesser ‘shares’ on social media: The simple reason is that the same content a company has posted, is found on different platforms. When a company has necessarily to do this in order to get maximum traffic and engagement, the content becomes repetitive and boring for the audience who are following the company on almost all platforms. So, basically, social media marketing will experience a major drop in conversion.
  2. Excessive Content Supply and Less Content Buyers: There is too much content on the internet, already. Every company is blogging at the moment because a blog gives one the opportunity for more attraction and conversions. As the competition grows stronger in the content market, there will be too much content for too little buyers. And when too much information is offered, the content buyers will stop buying the content. So, it is expected that Content Marketing will face some bad luck in 2020.
  3. More Expensive Google and Facebook Ads: At present, it is mandatory for digital marketers to invest in paid ads by Google or Facebook. This is because the attraction, engagement, and conversions are guaranteed when a company’s product, brand or services gets advertised on any of these platforms. Seeing the opportunity that paid ads are providing good revenue, Google and Facebook will raise the price bar making it a bit difficult for low investors to invest in paid ads. Those companies depending entirely on ads should look for other alternatives that will be trendy in the future.

What can we Hope from the digital market in 2020?

A lot of things seem hopeful in 2020 Digital Market Predictions. So, let’s discuss them.

  1. More Investments on Videos: The importance of videos is increasing as more people are getting engaged with audio-visuals. This is primarily because a lot of web users start engaging with the brand or company when they see a video from that company. It’s a great tool for social media marketing and advertising, so marketers are going to invest more in videos, live streaming, and 360° video content.
  2. Voice Search: In the future, most searches will be spoken by smartphone assistants and AI speakers like Amazan’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri. It has been predicted that by 2020, almost half of the searches will be made through voice search. Thus, digital marketers are looking for strategies to optimize their SEO rankings using voice search recognition tools. Voice search will affect SEO largely because Voice Searches made, will give only one result. Since everyone will want to land as the search result for voice search, the market is going to be very competitive.
  3. A/B Testing: A/B Testing lets you compare and contrast different versions of web pages, and other marketing assets. It also lets you know about the keywords, phrases, and images that are fit for your content. This is going to be a big marketing tool in the future as more marketers will start necessarily employing them in the content marketing process.
  4. Digital Marketing Live Events and Live Conferences: Attending conferences has been the best possible way to remain intact with the ever-changing digital market. With Digital Marketing these same conferences are becoming live and can be viewed directly from home or office. The live events also generate a huge number of traffics to all the companies and brands involved in the event. It has more potential in the future because of its promotional factor.
  5. Digital Marketing Coaches on Podcasts: In the near future, we will get a huge number of coaches from the digital marketing background who will speak about their tips, ideas, strategies and their stories on podcasts. So, it is evident that radio marketing is going to boom but in a totally different way. Digital Marketing coaches are already present in Soundcloud, Spotify, Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, and Stitcher and are making podcasts more professional.
  6. Omni-Channel Marketing: Omni-Channel Marketing is a multi-channel sale approach which makes it a priority to give the customer an integrated customer experience, irrespective of how the customer came to the brand or company. This is going to be applied in all companies to give the customer the maximum user experience and retain their loyalty even online. Omni-Channel will be a big slogan for digital marketers.
  7. Translation of Content: Useful and relevant content is always engaging. But providing your content in your local language and making them available in international languages will soon become a priority of digital content marketers. Users will prefer more language-specific content and digital marketers will get busier in providing the users translated versions of the same content. This will be a big victory for globalization, market expansion, and market diversification.
  8. Chatbots: Machine-learning based Chatbots can leverage your customer interaction and even learn from their previous interaction on how to deal with new questions. Since it automates the task by streamlining the initial procedure, it saves a lot of additional workload of the digital marketing team. Chatbots will become an integral part of the functionality of the entire team of digital marketers in most brands and companies.
  9. Influencer Marketing: When most users purchase something online, they depend entirely on online reviews. In this case, Influencers and Instagram Socialites can be a big revenue earner if they are being employed in digital marketing. This is actually happening. Digital marketers are employing influencers to provide reviews on products and services because these influencers, with their immense number of followers on various social networking sites, have the ability to affect your sales. So, in the future, more influencers are going to be responsible for promoting various brands online.
  10. Visual Search: Since machines are becoming more sensitive to visuals like humans, now pictures and images can be tracked down to their original site within seconds. There are so many search engines these days, where image search is working as effectively as text search and voice search. Digital marketers will need to invest more in how to make their content visually appealing because image search is going to evolve more in the future.

Digital marketing is sure to gain an impetus as internet use becomes more globalized with the upcoming year. More companies ranging from small stores, local markets, start-ups to malls, reputed brands and big companies will become accessible at a single search. So, digital marketing is here for eternity as long as we use digital platforms, and sooner or later, we must get accustomed to what the future holds in store for us.

How to Boost Search Engines Optimization Rankings

There is so much competition in the market and no one wants to lag behind one’s competitors in the digital market and it all depends on how much traffic you can generate on your website. We often wonder about how we can increase web traffic on our respective websites. Ranking on the first page on any search engines takes hard labor, but with the use of proper SEO hacks, you can easily crack the website rankings, either you are a newbie or an experienced one. But before understanding the tactics to boost your Search Engine Optimization let’s understand how search engines actually work.

Understanding How Search Engine Optimization Works

  • Every search engine has web crawlers that are designed to gather information from billions of webpages across the world and thereby organize them accordingly in the Search index. The software pays special attention to new sites and changes made to the existing ones and the links that do not exist anymore. Web crawlers also discover and give forth publicly available webpages first. The crawlers work by rendering the content of the page from keywords and thereby keeping track of them in the Search index.
  • Every search engine has a ranking system that is designed to give a web surfer the most useful information. Search algorithms manage the exact words of one’s inquiry, relevance, the expertise of sources, and the surfer’s location and settings. It tries to understand what sort of information one is searching for. Search engines have language models that decipher words and all other relevant words associated with it. It also involves interpreting spelling mistakes.
  • One can determine the relevancy of the information by looking for the same keywords that one has used for searching. The search engine crawlers give priority to the most reliable and trusted sources by identifying signals from pages demonstrating expertise, authoritativeness, and authenticity on a given subject. It also relies on aggregated feedback from the Search quality evaluation which is similar to rectifying gaming errors and glitches after reading the reviews.
  • The search engine also records one’s past search history and Search settings. One’s country and location also help in delivering content that is relevant to a particular surfer’s location.

These are the various ways in which search engines work. Now by analyzing these methodologies we can easily understand how to boost search engine optimization.

Hacks to Boost Search Engine Optimization

Make the webpage publicly available

There are various websites and webpages which cannot be availed by the public in general or requires subscriptions. If one’s website or webpage is new, is it advisable to enable the site to the public and make the content free of cost at least in the initial stage? This is because publicly available content and information always get better SERP ranking.

Provide precise Titles for written content

Any written content must include proper headlines or titles. By proper, it is meant that one needs to avoid using pompous and dramatic headlines for the content. Instead, one can be precise about what the content is speaking about. Precise titles for example “10 Tips to Boost Your SEO rankings” have higher chances of ranking good in search engines than pompous and dramatic titles like “The Best and Most Systematic Approaches You Can Take to Improve Your SEO Ranking”. The simple reason is that most web crawlers rank content according to the written content’s relevant titles which can speak about the exactness of the content and further indicates that the content has useful information and less bragging or exaggeration.

Be Language-Specific

Most of the content found on the Internet is written in English and that is because it has become a universal language. But the point that is to be noted is that languages can act as barriers and it is not advisable to let go of internet surfers who are not from an English-learning background. This way one may lose huge amounts of traffic. Thus, it is advisable that one provides multiple important language options like Español, Français, Россия (Russian), 普通话 (Mandarin) and Deutsche(German) on the web page. This will help you target customers and clients from abroad as well.

Detail your content according to its necessity

It has been noticed that most content which has high word count or is otherwise extensive comes on the first page of any search. Although the website must aim in writing extensively, it must also write and publish only what is relevant. Irrelevant or information that has been repeatedly provided using different tones in various parts of the content should be best avoided as then the search engine might penalize the webpage for providing low-quality content.

Publish only quality and error-free content

Low-quality content filled with visible errors has a high chance of suffering a setback in the search engine rankings. Thus, it is recommended to check and verify the quality of content that is being showcased on the web page and website. Irrelevant or wrong information can result in a penalty as well.

Keep making valuable changes in the webpage

Search engines always pay special attention to websites that are new and have relevant changes made within the web framework. So in order to grab the attention of search engine web crawlers and change the rankings, one needs to keep updating the webpage. The authenticity and freshness of the published content is a top priority for web crawlers and thus, there must valuable freshness in the content in order to get a good ranking.

Make sure to backlink sources or authorship

A content that has the proper backlink or mentions and provides a biography of the author has a high prospect of landing on the first SERP page. One can also provide links from blogs, author bio sections, product pages, news sites, forums, and directories.

Keep a track of negative reviews and rectify mistakes

Search engines also filter through the website’s quality evaluation report. If the web pages contain several negative reviews that are left unattended or reviews that have been answered inappropriately, there are high chances that the web page will not come under good rankings. Most of these reviews can act as a mistake identifier which can help one update the website accordingly. Taking negative reviews into consideration is a great way to tell the search engines that the website’s goal is to enhance the user experience and this will be quite beneficial for the website owner as the search index may mark the website as authentic quality content.

Target local audience

If the website owner has a business that cannot deal with digital marketing, then one needs to make their location a priority. One can search for the local business directories and then submit his/her business there. For example, if one has a web designing company, one can submit the business to business directories like Web Designing PROs and many more. One can also go for Brightlocal.com which is an online tool and from there one can easily search for authoritative business directories also check NAP (Name, Address and Phone Numbers) in existing Business directories. There will be high chances that the website will land based on its ratings on the various search engine maps. This will help one to locate the business physically by tracking the main business center using location tools.

Opt for PPC ads

If one wants to further boost their search engine optimization, there is an option to pay for advertisements on search engines and social media platforms. One only needs to fix a budget and avail any plan like cost-per-click (CPC), cost-per-thousand-impression (CPM) or cost-per-acquisition (CPA). The search engine will advertise the services or products provided by one’s business and website.

Use GTmetrix

It irritates the viewer when the web page is taking too long to upload or is rather showing error in uploading. This can be changed by availing GTmetrix that helps the website in analyzing the issues related to the speed of the webpage. One can take further steps like reducing server response timings, compressing images in order to minimize the page size, minimizing unnecessary code on the webpage page, and enabling browser caching.

Input speech recognition API using HTML codes

Using a few HTML codes one can create speech recognition in one’s website which will enhance search optimization. This is primarily because most users these days search by using voice recognition search engines and the number of users using voice recognition will significantly increase in the near future. So in order to be prepared for the future, one can his/her website to facilitate ranking in voice searches.

Make the webpage Mobile-Friendly with the Help of AMP

Most web pages these days are available on mobiles and android phones and most search engines prioritize mobile-friendly sites. Thus, in order to make one’s webpage or website mobile-friendly, the website needs to use AMP that helps in fast-forwarding the uploading process of huge websites and webpages on mobile phones. Webpages that can load on mobile phones instantly are most likely to get a good ranking in search engines. One can also make further changes like enlarging buttons sizes because magnifying the screen, every time, for some useful information is time-consuming and not preferable to users. Other than buttons useful content also needs to be enlarged accordingly. Large font sizes are more preferable according to popular search engines. Making the webpage overall mobile friendly is highly recommended for getting a good SEO ranking.

Switch to HTTPS web protocol

Most search engines these days warn users about web pages and websites that are not encrypted or have not updated to HTTPS web protocol. This new protocol enables the web users a safe web environment where all the information is encrypted and the data of the user is more safe. Thus, it is advisable to switch from any other old protocol to the latest HTTPS web protocol in order to let the users visit the website without experiencing any security warnings.

Making one’s website more valuable and one that can attract more traffic becomes simple using these hacks that can easily land one’s website even on the first page of any search engine. By using these hacks one can effectively boost one’s website’s search engine optimization which can significantly contribute to the growth in business.

Web Portal Development Life Cycle:

Web Portals can be developed just for business purposes where an admin can only access and add business-related information. One can add any type of functionality. At first, one may feel that developing a web portal is a daunting task but with the right skilled developers and the organized workflow, it becomes quite easier. Just like the websites, web portals also have some stages of development. This development involves three stages – pre-development stage, on-going development stage, and post-development stage.

Pre-development stage:   This stage requires extensive planning before initiating the development of a web portal. Some certain things that must be considered before starting the development of a web portal is discussed below.

purpose of the web a portal: What is the purpose to build a web portal? This is a very certain question one must keep in mind before starting the development of any web portal as the development would be done on the basis of its purpose.

goals of the web portal: One must have a goal before creating or developing something. The goal here is basically the motive of development or creation. So one must clear about its goal to develop a web portal, whether he/she wants to make money or share information and also have some plans for the future.

Research and market analyses: Research of the present market is important to determine the future of any web portal. One must analyze the number of present competitors along with the market analyses to check the percentage of annual growth.

Target Audience: Target audience is one of the most vital aspects of any startup or existing business. Knowing who is going to benefit from your product or services and who is going to buy your is very important for any businessman as you will instruct your developer to start designing your web portal accordingly and assure that the actions attract the audience.

Portal development lifestyle is majorly divided into four stages.

  • Architecture
  • Development
  • Staging
  • Production

Stage 1:

This stage includes designing the actual look and proper detailing.

Elements that must be included while designing a web portal.

Simple navigation allows users to search for their required information easily and navigate through the portal with ease.

Information about the business. A brief about us page is a must to build trust among users.

A proper contact information page is needed so that a customer can reach out to you when needed.

Provide search tools so that readers can easily find the things they want.

Image size should be appropriate so that it should not hamper the portal speed.

Maintain a similar web font throughout the portal.

Stage 2:

A web portal consists of multiple pages related to different aspects of the business and the development stage is devoted to taking care of all these.

The developer has to keep things in mind-

Portal load time should not exceed the average time limit of 3sec.

It should be easy navigation.

The user interface has to be proper and according to user requirements.

Provide all required information that is related to searches like the catalog, images, and videos.

Stage 3:

Staging Part #1 – Testing:

Complete clone of a live environment is created to stress test the web portal and before doing the final deployment test its functionality and final bugs.

Web Portal should be tested for-

Complete functionality

Compatibility with every platform

To be viewed properly in every browser version.

Web Portal should be tested by Integration Testing, Stress Testing, Scalability Testing, Load Testing, Resolution Testing, Cross-browser compatibility Testing, etc.

Staging Part #2 – Deploying the Portal:

After the completion of the testing process and fixing the found bugs if any now the final deployment will be done.

 Stage 4:

Production is the live environment of the web portal and it is the responsibility of the administrator to manage the portal. It is managed by the administrator who performs various tasks like instrumental updates of metadata, managing content on portal and web assets using automated scripts.

Post-Portal Development:

After the portal becomes live to the audience and started working properly it has to be further managed by the administrator who goes back and forth process of a portal development cycle. One can use specific portal development tools to manage Web Logic Portal applications and resources.

The two management can be used here-

Library Administrator: Library Administrator helps the admin to manage certain things –

  • Books
  • Menus
  • Themes
  • Shells
  • Look and Feel
  • Layouts
  • Pages
  • Portlets
  • Portlet Producers
  • Portlet Categories

Portal Administrator: Portal Administrators assembles and entitles parts of the portal to users and other administrators.

Portal Development by using best Technologies:

In e-commerce business interaction with customers is the key to have an efficient and proper flow. In the web portal, one can add its brand identity and promote the brand. Before getting the benefits one has to first create a portal. Now the question is how web portals are created? The origin of web portals are web search engines and have evolved through web push technology to its mature model in the late 1990s. Only a few libraries had adopted web portal technology till 2003 despite widespread use of my.yahoo.com type websites in business sectors. In modern days various technologies are used to develop a web portal and among these using one of the suitable languages to develop a web portal is essential.

Java: Java is one of the mainstream programming languages on the internet. It is an independent programming language that supports numerous operating systems.

PHP:  PHP is an interpreted script language that is used to imply the PHP Hypertext Processor language. It is the most prominent content management systems including WordPress, Joomla and Drupal is written in PHP

.Python: Python is a very intense and adaptable language. It is the preferable language for hackers as it can do quick scripting and make hacking software.

.Net:  Net is used as the framework for Microsoft Sharepoint Application Development and Web-based applications. It is a windows based framework. This is an excellent framework for enterprise solutions and applications developed for the monetary sector.

Web Development Tools:

Web Development Tools have come quite a long way in these few years.  We can access highly tested libraries to improve the workflow and can be benefitted by greater possibilities while making various designs. As the web tools are increasing on a high note so finding suitable software seems to be a daunting task. There is a list of essential tools to get one started –

  1. SublimeText
  2. Chrome Developer Tools
  3. jQuery
  4. GitHub
  5. Twitter Bootstrap
  6. Angular.js
  7. Sass

jQuery: In order to get rid of the sufferings caused while using JAVAscript jQuery came in 2006 to simplify the front-end process appearing on the scene. It helps the developer by abstracting lots of functionality that a developer needs to solve and provide a lot of scope for creating animations, adding plug-ins or navigating documents. jQuery is one of the most popular JAVAscript libraries with the installation of on 65% of the topmost trafficked sites which is almost 10 million in numbers.GitHub: While working on a new project features the one thing that makes a developer concern is mishandling the situation and the easiest thing to get out of this situation is to enter GitHub. One can view any changes he has made till now and can even get back to the previous page by simply rolling out. It also provides several other components like bug tracking, feature requests, task management, and even wikis for the project. It’s a great way to get involved and a scope to learn from the best with the wide range of open-source projects on which one can work.

Twitter Bootstrap: When anyone starts to build front-end applications regularly then it will be noticed that the same patterns are emerging. In order to solve this issue UI frameworks are abstracting common elements into reusable modules so that developers can cover up the elements of new applications quickly and easily. Bootstrap, developed by twitter is the most widely used UI. Bootstrap is complete with tools to normalize stylesheets, building modal objects, adding Java script plugins, etc.

Angular.js:  HTML has not been designed to manage dynamic views rather it is usually the cornerstone of any developer’s toolbox which some considered as a serious flaw. Angular.js lets one extend applications HTML syntax which will result in a more expressive, readable and quick to develop an environment that could otherwise not possible by HTML alone.

Sass:  Sass is an open-source project which defined the genre of modern CSS preprocessors. Although a little bit tricky to get the first grip but its combination of variables, nesting, and mixins are the renditions of simple CSS when it is compiled and so stylesheets will be more readable and most importantly DRY(Don’t Repeat Yourself).

Therefore, anyone can create their own web portals for their respective businesses or show personalized content for users. One just needs to be aware of the purpose of building a web portal as it will be designed accordingly.

So, after you have worked on the above, next we will decide which platform to use to create your website for free. Though there are many tools out there on the internet today, but we have decided to work with the best 2, Wix and WordPress.

Wix is one of the most famous tools to create a free website. Wix was founded in 2006 by Israeli developers Avishai Abrahami, Nadav Abrahami, and Giora Kaplan. Headquartered in Tel Aviv. Currently, Wix has over 150 million users in 190 countries.

So, Are you ready and excited? Let’s create a website using Wix.

Step#1 – Sign-up for a Wix account.

The first and foremost step is to create a Wix account.

You will get this above picture when you visit Wix.com. Click on the “Get Started” button and sign-up with Facebook account or the Google account. Then, you will have to answer a few questions like why you need to create the website? your professional details and all.  You will also find options for the domains. Wix will give you a free sub-domain. Sub-domains are like www.example.wix.com but, still, if you want to have your own domain like www.example.com you can buy it too.

Step#2 – Home page Customization

This is the last part. Now after doing all the changes you can click on the “Publish” button and your website will be online within less than a minute. Isn’t that so easy? After publishing you can see your website online. See the one I create while writing this article – www.bappaut05.wixsite.com/website

Now, Wix also has a paid version which gives you more options in terms of design. But, in free isn’t this (www.bappaut05.wixsite.com/website) cool to show to the world about what you do.

Okay, so the next website we will create using WordPress. Again, this is free, easy and interesting too. So, let’s see how to create a website using WordPress.

WordPress was founded on 27th May 2003 and it’s founders were Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little. Today around 19,500,000 websites on the entire web use WordPress. Same as the Wix.com, it is so simple to understand. Their user interface is so simple and features rich. For designing, there are many templates that you can use for designing your website the way you want. The latest version of WordPress released in December 2018 named WordPress 5.0 “Bebo”.

There are two options in WordPress that you can choose for your purpose.

  • WordPress.com – It is totally free and has limitations of features.
  • WordPress.org (Self-hosted) – This is free as well, but you will need your own domain and website hosting. It will give you the full control to personalize on your website.

Let’s us do with WordPress.com for which you need nothing, just a little bit of your time to have your own website, and in another article, I will show you how to create a website using WordPress.org.

Step#1 – Sign-up

Same as Wix, you have to sign-up first to use WordPress.

Sign-up by providing your email, username, and password or using your Google account.

Step#2 – Choosing the purpose

After creating your account on WordPress.com, you have to choose the purpose of your website and after choosing the purpose, WordPress will suggest you a few gorgeous templates to design your website. Take time to look at the templates that match your needs and content, then select one.

Step#3 – Domain name selection

In this part, you’ll find a search bar where you can write down your web address preferences and WordPress will give you a few suggestions over that. Though you can choose the free domain from WordPress, there are several options for paid services too.

Step#4 – Upgradation of the Home Page

After selecting your domain and creating the web address, you will be redirected to a dashboard, from where you can edit the template you have chosen and design your website.

Like you see on the above picture, in the left side, you will find options like your plan, your pages, media, and the design option. Play around with those and stop where you are satisfied.

As you can see that I’m doing some editing on my home page, about with ease. WordPress makes things so easy that anyone can create a beautiful website. I have added some images as well. Even if you want to add some extra pages, you can do that too. Also, you can find a built-in contact form for your website as well.

Step#5 – Make your website Online

This is the last step folks. After designing all the pages now, you have to make it online. You have to click on the “Update” button placed on the top right-hand corner. After clicking you will get an option to view your website page and clicking that option will redirect to your very own website.

This is the website (https://novawebsolutions.wordpress.com/) I just created using WordPress.com while writing this article.

Do you like it?

I hope to see your website in the comment below.
